First tournament in America

In November 2024, I traveled for the first time with my coach and dad to tournaments in America, specifically to Florida. The first tournament was at the IMG Academy (Eddie Herr). Eddie Herr was played in Bradenton, and I was very impressed with the training conditions at the academy.

The courts are beautiful, the weather is lovely, warm, and sunny, and I played a lot of practice matches there. Although I didn’t make it through the qualifiers and didn’t enter the main draw, I trained very well and focused on my development.

In my free time, I enjoyed walking along the beaches, exploring the city, and discovering Bradenton. After Eddie Herr, I played two more tournaments (Casely) in the under-14 category. In one, I reached the finals and won second place, and in the other, I was the champion. After that, we moved to Miami, where I participated in the Orange Bowl.

It’s a well-known tournament that was beautifully organized, attracting kids from all over the world. I played well in the qualifiers and the first round of the main tournament. In the second round, I lost to the top Indian player. The match was very good, and I learned a lot from it. For the rest of my time before returning home, I swam at Miami’s beaches. I made many friends from all over the world, improved my English, learned about American culture and food, and visited some famous shops and landmarks in Miami.

Besides the unforgettable moments on the tennis courts, what I’ll remember most from my trip to America is the warmth and hospitality of Americans toward us foreigners. They were very helpful, kind, and welcoming. I will also always remember the beauty of Florida. I would recommend a trip to Florida to everyone! I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my sponsors and my family, who made this experience possible, as well as my teachers, who are a great support and understanding of my absences!
