I was born on April 12, 2012, in Osijek, a beautiful city in the east of Croatia, as the third child in my family. I come from a sports-oriented family. My dad is a famous former Croatian soccer goalkeeper and national team player, and my mom was a volleyball player for many years, with a passion for all activities and a healthy lifestyle.
My sister Karla is an excellent dancer and singer, while my sister Nika enjoys recreational tennis and horse riding. I remember my childhood as beautiful and interesting, especially because of our frequent moves (to Georgia, Denmark, and other places). Being far from my homeland, extended family, and friends, I developed a strong bond with my sisters and parents, who have always been my support. In our house, everything revolved around football—dad’s training sessions, matches, home exercises, stretching routines, and healing injuries.
I can confidently say that we’ve lived and breathed sports since childhood.
Because of this environment, we were encouraged to participate in sports from an early age. I started gymnastics at the age of three. Shortly after, I continued with handball and athletics.
It wasn’t long before my dad noticed my incredible strength and the speed of my legs, and he suggested I try tennis.
After my very first training session, I knew tennis was the sport for me. I began watching tennis matches and researching female players.
It was amazing to see how elegant they looked on the court, wearing skirts and dresses, while also being fierce warriors in the game. I dreamed of being like them.
That’s how my tennis journey began. It requires a lot of hard work, sacrifice, determination, and desire to progress.
